Social Networking: A purposeful loss of privacy

For my research project I would like to explore the issue of people who forgo not only their own privacy, but that of their children too.  I have on occasion been very angry to find out that a friend or relative has posted something about me on Facebook that I didn’t necessarily want made public.  I have Facebook friends who post every detail and milestone of their children’s lives, complete with photos, from birth to graduation, and I wonder how the children are affected by this lack of privacy.  Do they feel violated, or is it taken for granted that every moment of their lives is posted on social media somewhere?
